Kelsey Shelton Smith was born on Dec. 28 2002. A little bit after she was born they found her faher was Lance Briggs. So her name was change to Kelsey Shelton Smith Briggs. Kelsey mother is Raye Dawn Smith.
Lance and Raye were divorced when she was born. Kelsey lived with Raye but loved to visit Lance. Kelsey was a Daddy's Girl at a young age. The first 2 years of Kelsey life were happy and health.
In begining of 2005 Raye began to date Micheal Lee Porter. Around this time the first signs of abuse towards Kelsey were noticed. Mid Jan. 2005 Kelsey suffer a broken collar bone and bruises in care of Raye. Jan. 24 2005 Kelsey was moved to Kathie Briggs home her grandmother. April 2005 Kelsey still with her grandmother but saw Raye alot. April 18 2005 Raye Dawn Smith married Micheal Lee Porter.
Kelsey stay brave she her daddy's little soldier. In the end of April 2005 Kelsey broke both her legs while in care of Raye. May 3 2005 Kelsey was placed in DHS custody. May 4 2005 was moved to her other grandmother home Gayla Smith. June 15 2005 Judge Key placed Kelsey back in her mothers care after stating that Kelsey abuser was unknow. Kathie Briggs saw her granddaughter Kelsey on August 27 2005 one last time. Ashly Gobers or mommy Ashley also saw kelsey.
Kathie Briggs the last time i saw Kelsey she look and acting like she was dying, she was not the same child. Ashley stepmother of Kelsey said the spark that had once been there was gone. On Oct. 11 2005 Kelsey Stepfather Micheal Lee Porter kicked or puched her so hard in stomach that she died. Lance came home days after Kelsey had died instead of a happy homecoming he had to buried his little girl. Raye Dawn Smith was sent to jail for 27 years for enabling child abuse. Micheal Lee Porter was sent to jail for 30 years for eenabling child abuse. No one has been charge with murdred of Kelsey.
