Kelsey Case part 8
Many have spread lies that Raye is innocent. Raye however tells a different story. They say no one knew that Kelsey was being abusing but the Briggs pointing at Raye and allowing Mike Porter to slip by. Raye tella other story.
Mrs. Garret - was Mike there when Kelsey fell out of bed?
Raye - No and that was big ordeal.
Mrs. Garret - What was a big ordeal?
Raye - Kathie said that Mike was there.
Mrs. Garret - Was she insinuating Mike hurt Kelsey?
Raye - They were saying that from the begining.
Mrs . Garret - So they think that Mike was mean to Kelsey?
Raye - They saying that from the beginning.
Raye's says she never saw the bruises on Kelsey in Jan. and about Kelsey's broken collar bone.
Raye says
Q - was Mike there ?
Raye - No. And then that friday night , we styaed at mike's house. And then whenever she came out of the bathroom , Kelsey said momm i want out.So then the next day i look her over and he seem fine but noctice bruises on her head.
Raye - And then on monday morning i Kelsey was swollen.
Q - So what happen at mike's house that weekend ?
Raye - Right . And that's when i start wondering if it wa sbroken because Kelsey used it all weekend.
Q - What day would you noctice that on? You saw on monday that it was swollen?
Raye - shook her head.
Q- But you saw Kelsey out of her bed?
Raye - It was thursday and Friday night.
Q- Thursday and friday night. And you were at mike house?
Raye - Friday night.
Q- so thursday night Kelsey was with you at your house and then Friday night you and Kelsey were at Mike's house -
Raye - that's right.
Q- so did mike have explatation for the injury or anything? Did he said anything ever?
Raye - No and i just - i could not believe that she had used it normally untill, it was swollen.
Q- wa sther any time mike was alone with her that weekend?
Raye - I really don't remember.
Q- do you think it was possible.
Raye - i mean yes cause he was around.
They said Raye conutine to take Kelsey to the hospital because she was worried . Raye said she did not. They also that Kelsey was not walking on her foot when she came back from Kathie's.
Raye - They went with the girls and school so then miste called and said you know she no longer wants to walk.
Raye and Mike made kelsey walk but it just got worse.
Raye - They starting swelling and then everyone asked why did'nt you take her to the doctor well it was the weekend and that monday i took her to DHS and explained i know what to do. Her legs are swollen and she dose not want ot walk. After Raye went to the DHS they told Raye to take Kelsey to the hospital. Raye took Kelsey to a doctor related to her attorney.
Raye - Well if i take her to DHS before itake to the doctor everyone up and up and everybody knows. I was just trying ot cover my rear.
They said that Kathie took off Kelsey's Casts and allowed her to crawl on the floor. However the doctor Kathie took her to was at OU children'c medial center took off Kelsey cast.

Why did you take off her casts?
Dr.S - Kids are wonderful these bones were not displaced they were already in the state of healing when you press on it does hurt. So it was my recommendation she did not need casts she had been put in casts from her toes up over her knees.
They say that Kelsey father Lance was not in Iraq that was in rehab but Rayesays a different story.
Raye - Kelsey was supposed to go for a visit supposedly in two weeks to lance unsupervised. He just comes back from the army which upset me because you know he just came back from war.
They say Raye suggested Kelsey to start play therpay because of Kelsey's behavior. That is not true.

Dr. K - No i did play therpay allows psychologist help the child work the issues.

Kelsey Shelton Smith Briggs Case Part 7
What happen on Oct. 11 2005 is unknown the day Kelsey died. the following recounts are her last day of Life.
Oct.11 2005 Kelsey Last Day
Raye said kelsey woke up betwenn 9:30 and 10:00 am that morning. About a half after waking up Kelsey had bowl of soup. She satyed in pjs all a black t-shirt and underwear. Around 12:00 pm a worker assinged to Kelsey Jean Bonner show up. Jean saw bruises on Kelsey in odd places for a child to have bruises. Jean said a bite mark of Kelsey finger and small bruises on her face. Jean saw some pictures taken early and saw Kelsey had lost weight and looked paler.
Q- did jean look over her?
Raye - Jean just kind of look at her.
Raye was upset when found Lance Briggs Kelsey father would unsupervision visit with Kelsey when he came back form war. Raye said it was unfair because she had not had them in the past. Jean spotted a turtle when she left at 1:30pm. Jean said that at time Kelsey and raye were playing with the turtle. While outside Kelsey had accicent so Raye took off her underwear and left them off. Raye said Kelsey and her went to go to nap about 1:45pm or 2:00pm. Raye said Kelsey was eating rasins and then fell asleep. Raye stated Mike came into room at 2:45pm. He kneel down beside Raye and woke her then went downstairs. Kelsey still slepping at time. Raye said she left 2:50pm to pick up Mike 's daughter and raye reuturn at 3:30 pm that day.
The following is Mike Porter's recouted of this day.
I got up aroung 7:30 and got aroung 8:30am that morning. He says he Raye talk several times that
day. He says he return home 2:45pm that day. He says he saw Kelsey laying on her back in themiddle of the bed asleeep and Raye closest to the door. When kneel down beside Raye he rpopped open Mike said i well go get Whitney you guys go back to sleep. Raye said no well and took Mike downstairs to and show him th turtle Kelsey had been playing with. mike said he heard a noise form the bedroom and went running into bedroom Mikesaid Kelsey blue and not breathing. Mike Kelsey looked stiff and her streched up ,her seemed to clunched to her side , and jaw seemed ot be clunched on her tougue. mike went into the kitchen with Kelsey and called Gayla Smith. Gayla told Mike to call 911 so he did.
Mike called 911 at 3:09pm as he did he laid Kelsey of the Kichen table. mike gave Kelsey 4 to 6 breaths and Chest compressor. Then he run outside with Kelsey waited for help. Gayla then came and took Kelsey from Mike. Kelsey was taken to the hospital an dat 4:45pm pronounced dead. Kelsey had 5 bruises and they were done in a few minutunes of hours before her death. Kelsey face had a dark bruises on her left cheek, her pierced ear was bleeding. Her earring had been removed. There was a small bruises between her eyes and it was paler than the others. Kelsey upper lip was torn. Her lips and gums were pale. On Kelsey left chest and lower right abdomen ther were contusions. Tehre bruise sto lower right abdomen at least 7 burises. Her legs were cover in bruises.Kelsey baby toe nail had been rip off and a small pucher wound to bottom of her left foot. There was bruise on of Kelsey left hand. There was a healing scrape on a finger on her left hand. A small bright red abrasion on her back, and area of trama to the left but cheek.She also had bruising around her bottom. 4 bruises between hair and skull bone. Kelsey brain was swollen. Sonething had been froce between Kelsey legs. It stated that Kelsey had died form beening kneed , puched or hurt by blow to fist did a occur by falling. No no one has been charged with Kelsey sexual assult of her murdred.

Kelsey Shelton Smith Briggs Case Part 6
Many people said Raye did'nt know kelsey was being a abuse. Raye her salf made every excuses for broken bones , bruises and marks of Kelsey body. Excerpts from Mike Porter's daughter counsellors notes. There could be unsure of the truth it's possible.

Whitney told the counseller that she heard Kelsey getting a spanking. So he went upstair s to look and saw her dad spanking Kelsey real hard. Whitney Mike spank Kelsey so if left her bottom real red and Mike spank Kelsey intill she threw up. Whitney also said Mike did not teell anyone he had spanked Kelsey or that she threw up. would other people heard Kelsey crying if Mike had spanked her that hard. Would'nt they notice that and kelsey bottom was red or head her throw up? Also how Kelsey reacted to Mike afterwards? whitney said Kelsey had lots bruises when Whitney was her dad and Kelsey.
Whitney saw bruises but Raye did not? Kelsey was still in pull -ups would'nt Raye have seen them when she change Kelsey? Whitney also outside she heard a loud thump and she went outside and saw her dad hiting Kelsey head off the wall. Would'nt a child's head off the a brick wall leave bruises? Would'nt Raye have seen them? Whitney said that Kelsey would crawl to Raye and clung to her cried. Would'nt a mother notice her 2yr was clunging to her leg and crying. I have been asking if Kelsey could talk they all said yes Kelsey could talk up a storm as if she was half grown. Then i asked if she said anything, Yes she said something as , I don't like Ashley. Note is this really true?
Note Kelsey did not call Ashley she called her mommy Ashley. Kelsey also said I daon't want to see Kathie. Nothe can this alson be true? Kelsey Shelton Smith Briggs Case Part 4
After nine Months of Abuse Kelsey lost her life. Kelsey was 2 Years Old. Kelsey mother Raye Dawn was charged with enabling Child Abuse by a injury. Raye was sentened to 27 years in prison. Raye was charged with her second husband abuse her daughter Kelsey to death. The following excerpts from Raye's Trial notes. Donna Gilbreath is currentlya supervisor at Lewis Manufacturing in meeker ,OK, and Raye's supervisior when Raye worked at Lewis.
Donna's testmony
Donna one day Raye came over and saw she had a new ring on. And we start talking about her new ring.
Raye - I am engaged to Mike Porter.
Donna - how does Kelsey feel about gettin a new dad?
Raye - Kelsey does not like Mike .
Donna Why?
Raye Cause Mike is mean to her.
Donna What do you mean Mike's mean to her?
Raye He makes her mind.
Donna Raye she is a baby and you have to listen. Kids do not lie. Raye you are solo protector of Kelsey if you don't protector her who will?
Raye Kelsey gets jealous when Mike and I Kiss and Hug on each other. Little Miss Attitude has been really acting up seen me and Mike got together.

This turn out to the sister of raye's attorney. Kelsey's grandmother Kathie Briggs took kelsey to 4 other doctors who said it was child abuse. Dr. Sullivan is a pedictric othopedic surgeon who takes cadr of broken bones and diseases in muscular systems in children. He works for OU Children's Hospital and has 31 years of experience in pediatrics.

But it was under my suspicion that this was Child Abuse. Then kathie told me of the inncidents.
Why Child Abuse?
Dr. S - Upon inspection , there are several things we consider when disscuss Child Abuse , multiple factures , a suspicous story , dirrerent stages of healing , and the pattern ofthe factures.
If you grab hold of the bone and twist it , it creates a sprial facture. In this case you see
1. A brokne Collar bone
2. Different stages of healing , one leg more advance than the other.
3. a suspicious story in all my 31 years i have never seen a child a beeak a leg because of shoes i have never seen it.
Gayla Smith recalled about a weeek before kelsey death a diplay of jealous. Gayla Smith At one point Mike told Raye you don't about anything , but that thing in the back. (talking of Kelsey)
Oct. 11 2005 Kelsey died while her mother Raye and stepfather Micheal Porter in there home.

Kelsey Shelton Smith Briggs Case Part 3
Many people said Raye in jail cause spircacy. Lis have followed her defence. Raye is in jail because she wait for husband Micheal Porter to killer her daughter and then realise something was wrong. These are excerpts from Raye's interview . When it was asked about Kelsey sprained ankle. Raye sai sshe was wearing little plat form flip flops... and the only thing is Kelsey may have twisted it which Raye told everyone that she wore them.
Mr. Garret do you fall down alot when you wear them Raye?
Raye yeah and we never wore them again.
That is not True waht Raye said about never wearing them again. Patti Jean Bonner a worker assinted to Kelsey.

Patti- Are talking about shoes?

A- No it was Fri. night , we stayed at Mike's house. And that's whenever - Kelsey came out of bathroom and Kelsey said i want Out Mommy. Raye said what are you doind and Kelsey said i want out.
A- so you know i look her over the next day and she had bruises on her head.
A- i wne t some where and came back and Mike , Whitney,Buddy and Kelsey were in our bedroom. Kelsey was on Mike and her eyes and mouth were taped shut . They were all laughing at her. Raye walked in and said What the heck are you doing . Raye just jerk her up and got her out of there.
Q - was this after the broken legs?
A- Yes it was not very long ago.
Q - Whitney and Buddy was there and Mike and Kelsey. What kind of Tape did he use?
A- Like masking tape. i asked Mike what he was doing and he said she laughing intill you came in. i said she was not laughing because she could not see me.,
Q - So after the broken legs?
A- Yeah not long ago.
Q - So September?
A- it was some where around there.
Raye wiated untill Kelsey death find out something was wrong.
A- after we moved in to my moms house Kelsey wanted to walk around. Kelsey had lived for a 1 and half before this. So she was walking on the stairs. And went to my grandma's to get water or some thing and i came back and Mike said is there is there a bump right here? Rayte said Yes it's red why? Mike said Kelsey fell down the stairs. Raye said why? when? what happen?
On home check went inside Raye's home check and raye followed inside leaing Kelsey alone outside.
When they went outsie Kelsey was in the middle of the road. Raye shouted Whitney as if Whitney was suppose be watching Kelsey. Why was Raye blameing it on Whitney? Raye says Kelsey was depressed and no one would listen to her. No one not even her mother.
Q - So what else would Kelsey do that might upset you?
A-I would'nt said it upset me. It just kind of confused me- if Mike putting her into bath or helping Kelsey change her clothes , sometimes , you know, Kelsey would let us know, Kelsey would let us she did'nt like it. I was like Kelsey what's wrong with you ? So then i would just take Kelsey.
Q- Kelsey did'nt want to take a bath?
A- like Mike would hold Kelsey up- like, one night Mike held Kelsey up and you know Kelsey would just kick her pants off , one night she just like that any more so Kelsey did not do.
Q- Did that make Mike mad.

Kelsey Shelton Smith Briggs Case Part 2
Kelsey suffered nine months of abuse. Abuse include a broken collar bone, 2 broken legs, and bruises from head to toe. Oct. 11 2005 Kelsey died whilte at her mothers home Raye Dawn Smith. Kelsey 's baby toe nail had been ripped off , her lip was torn , and she blunt force trama to her pirvate parts. Kelsey's step fater Micheal Porter sentened to 30 years in prison. Raye Dawn Smith Mother was sentened to 27 years in prison the district attorney felt she knew or should have know about the abuse. Since Raye's convition sites have been lauch stating that Raye that innocent. In process they have pushed kelsey aside.
Why don't any of sites said that Raye Dawn and Gayla Smith that they watched Micheal Porter tape Kelsey eyes shut.These excerpts from Raye report. When Raye was asked what she wanted to do shewanted to to the people. Raye talked the people about marrying the wrong person 2 times. Child Abuse killed her baby but all Raye was Raye herself. When a officer asked Raye doctors and DHS confirming Kelsey abuse. Raye said it's easy to said shoulda , coulda, woulda but nobody cares what i was feeling when i was trying to Kelsey back. I am sure Kelsey was wondering the same thing. Why does my mommy see someone is hurting me in my home?
Raye says people are useing Kelsey for there own personal gain.Raye says i have always felt like they were against me. Kelsey was kicked at her lowest. Kelsey was kicked so hard it killed her.

Date 4/15/05 bruiseing to thighs and and rib cage in house of mother friend in mother's care.
Date 4/25/05 broken legs location unknow and time.
April 2005 18-21 in Kathie Briggs home and 21-25 Mother home.
Date 8/19/05 bruise on left cheek in home and care of mother .

Date 8/19/05 bruise on forehead , reddened area of eye in care and home of mother.
Date 8/23/05 not eating in home and care of mother.
Date 8/23/05 bruises left hip , left cheek , and jaw in care and home mother.
Date 9/2/05 Rub burns to the eye.
Kelsey was return to mother on 6/15/05 by Judge Key after stating Kelsey abuser was unknow. Because on Raye's selfness kelseywent form being a happy health little to a child with two broken legs,to a defeated child, to a angel in heaven.
Kelsey is and always be a victim.
